A multifunctional meeting place
“De Vluchter” not only radiates lightness and modernity, but also embodies an overall vision that seamlessly integrates various functions. The ground floor houses the library and a refectory for the municipal school, where there is also space for receptions and lectures. ekz benelux contributed to this vision by implementing technology for smooth and efficient operation.
Focus on young people
The focus on the younger generation is evident in the thoughtful design of the library. Modern facilities have been integrated that not only encourage children’s reading pleasure, but also create an educational environment. Upstairs, two classrooms, a computer classroom and a cosy reading corner provide opportunities for interactive learning and discovery.
High-end library technology
A notable announcement for the future is the introduction of an openBiB by ekz benelux, starting in early 2024. This innovative approach will enable church members to borrow books without the need for physical staff, seven days a week, from 6am to 10pm. This pioneering solution fits seamlessly into the digital shift in the library world, offering flexibility to readers seeking literary discoveries outside regular opening hours.
