The Zingem library, part of the Kruisem library, has recently undergone a remarkable makeover. Previously, this library was located (temporarily) in the old presbytery in Zingem. However, thanks to a rearrangement of office space in the Administrative Centre, space has now become available for the library. This move has resulted in an improved and pleasant library environment.
With a thorough refurbishment, the new library has become very beautiful. The interior is bright and light, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Moreover, good climate control has been provided, making it comfortable to stay at the library. Since July 2023, therefore, the lending service has been located in the Administrative Centre.
A Pleasant Library Experience for Everyone
The focus of the Zingem library is on the youth section, given the large number of youth borrowers. Although the adult section is slightly smaller, it still offers a wide range of books and resources.
In addition, a cosy read-aloud corner has been created where visitors of all ages can enjoy fascinating stories. Moreover, flexible workstations are available for those who want to study or work in the library.
New Collection and Lending Equipment
For the necessary RFID techniques, the library called in the expertise of ekz benelux. Using the new collection and lending equipment, borrowers can perform the necessary operations independently. Payment transactions are also integrated into the library’s self-service services.
24/7 Book Return Machine
A convenient 24/7 book return machine has been installed on the outside of the library, allowing members to return their books at any time. Thanks to a highly visible backlight construction, the book return machine is easy to find even during evening and night hours.
